To the Members of the Graduating Classes: Each of you is to be congratulated for at least two reasons. First, because you chose a goal in higher education and second, because you achieved it. In so doing you have set yourself apart from the majority of yourfellow citizens in your age group. As one recent commence¬ ment speaker so aptly expressed it, you have become the un¬ common man and woman. This is a well deserved distinction now and it will continue so as long as you make the best use possible of your education and training. It is apparent, therefore, that the end of your formal educa¬ tion is but the threshold of new opportunities and new respon¬ sibilities. For every one of you it is our wish that you recognize your opportunities with eagerness and enthusiasm and our hope that you will meet and discharge your responsibilities with courage and conviction.
