Niehous who devoted a lifetime to the furtherance and promotion of engineering education at Tri-State College. Much of the construc- tion of the Civil Engineering Building, started in 1908 and completed in 1909, was done by students. Since ancient times the civil engineer has been the builder. To- day civil engineers are employed in all parts of the globe, building roads, airfields, railroads, dams, and solving the problems of irrigation, water supply and sanitation.
