utah- 5-- r. Richard Linton, Senior Class Counselor, wonders how that freshman file got Where can a student go when he feels that his schedule is all wrong? Who will listen when he feels that school is not for him? Unfortunately too many students find them- selves in this situation. However, at Trimble Technical the students find coun- selors who are especially trained for guidance in a highly specialized school. A Technical student is fortunate. He will be tested, counseled, and most of all, listened to. In many instances a visit to a counselor will make the dif- ference in success or failure. But most important is the fact that a student leaves the counseIor's office in a hap- pier frame of mind than when he entered. ito the senior file cabinet. Birdie Elder, Counselor for half of the ninth grade and all of tenth grade, tells a sophomore that he cannot have a schedule missing him at the end of first period. She counsels each stu- t about the required courses and what his tests show that he an aptitude for. 4,,.... Y, I Mr. Isaac Hernandez, ESAA Assistant to the coun- selors, checks his crowded schedule. Mexican- American students find him to be a good friend when a problem arises. l Mr. A. L. McElroy, eleventh and half of ninth grade counselor, enjoys a light moment as he checks schedules. He knows counseling is a very serious responsibility, but he balances it with a great sense of humor. Mrs. Algaree Jackson, Instructional Aide, helps the counselors keep the students from swarming them. Mrs. Jackson lends a helping hand wherever need- ed. She organized and directs the Green B. Drill Team.

Reading Lab - Popular Place For tudents N. Mrs. Pratt, instructor, checks the listening stations as Fredrick Brown listens of their reading comprehension test. Books for exchange reading are on thi over his ear phones. Curtis Washington and Mrs. Boone are checking the results shelf in the background. Mrs. Euna Pratt checks reading manual with Conrad Herrera. Conrad Herrera and Reynaldo Villa watch reading machine, as words pass by. That helps the student read much faster. l The Reading Center is a Reading and Study Skills lal for students at all reading levels from grade two to gradl fourteen. The center uses the Systems approach to readini through the use of the Learning 100 program and thg Reading 300 program designed by Educational Develop ment Laboratory and NlcGraw Hill. l l l
