Adding color and splendor to the Green Wave Band, the drum major and maiorettes entertain during half time and at pep rallies. The lasting impression made by the band is dependent upon its leaders. This year's Drum Maior stepped out so smartly as he led the band in its marching routines that everyone felt very proud. The Maiorettes work hard to learn new twirling routines. Theirs is a difficult performance because they must work as one. No band could function in an efficient manner without good of- ficers to keep it well organized. A girl and a boy are rewarded each year for beingthe most con- genial and adding so much to the general morale of all. They serve as sweetheart and favorite until two more are elected the following year. Typicol Sound of Homecoming Begins With MEMORIES are almost too much for Ma Campbell, as she was affectionately known to her students before her retire- ment in 1950. Mr. A. B. O'Connor, Prin- cipal, is enioying this moment as he en- ioyed every one of them. How Are You Old Boy? Few days in the lives of Technical students have more signifi- cance than Homecoming Day, whether it be the year T955 or 1965. To be at least nominated for Homecoming Queen is a secret hope in the heart of every sophomore girl as she eagerly looks forward to her magic year as a senior. Weeks before the actual day arrives, the whole school hustles with activity. The school must take a new fresh look for the re- turning exes. Today's student body must show yesterday's student body that Technical has not been stan-ding still but is keeping pace with a fast changing world. As the day becomes history, memories of the rustle of ribbons and the tinkle of bells on mums, the reunion of old friends, the first look at a new addition to the family-- become links with a past that wi l not soon be forgotten. T965 WAS A GOOD YEAR for officers for the Ex-Student Association. Three graduates from last spring: Doris Hollingsworth, Sandra Reed, and Carolyn Steinmetz were elected as officers. George Tippins, who graduated in 1960, was elected president. EX-CHEERLEADERS always 'lead the audience in one yell. This group seems to be having a little trouble finding a yell that they all remember. Their conversation may have gone something like this: Ramon Vega, class of '64, I think you start with your foot like this. Marty Sepeda to Sharian Bryant, both from class of '65, Don't worry, Shariang remem- ber how we used to fake it. Dwight Cox, class of '64, What am I doing up here? I don't know any more about it now than I used to. Sheryl O'Connor, class of '64, and Gary Esters, class of '64, both think that they will iust walt the thing out and play it by ear. NO HOMECOMING PEP RALLY is com- plete without the traditional Baby Pa- rade. The only thing different about this particular baby is that he is a senior cheerleader and seems to be leading Mama rather than the other way around. It could be that Larry Vann wants to get Mrs. Vann across and out of the way. 23 T ONE GROUP of ex-cheerleaders may be having trouble getting started, but not Marilyn Miller from the class of '63. She seems as natural with her cheerleading as she was two years ago.
