LIFE Trimble County High School BedfordKy. Dedication GARRET DEAN BOWLING The Senior Class affectionately dedicates the 1973 Elbmirt to Dean Bowling, our yearbook advisor. Mr. Bowling, a teacher in the Math Department, has been an asset to T.C.H.S. for the past four years. We would like to thank you, Mr. Bowling, for all the support that you have given the Class of '73. You'll do! 2 Table of Content Introduction Administration-Faculty Sports ... 17 Seniors ... 41 Features ... 65 Underclassmen . . . Organizations ... 99 . . .7 77 T. C. H. S. 5 In Memory Gary Callis Brad Griffith On May 18, 1972, the lives of Gary Callis, 16, Brad Griffith, 17, and Jimmy Evans, 16, were taken in a tragic car accident. Gary and Brad were mem- bers of the Class of 73, and Jimmy was a member of 74. They were three wonderful guys who will always be remembered in our hearts. Gary believed very strongly in the meaning of these words, Love and Peace Forever. Lest these three young boys have died in vain, let us remember them and this tragic accident each time we get into our car. LOOK FOR LIFE September 6, 1971 I wish I were a superman, instead of just a plain human. Life was not made for human beings, At least not for me. I wish I knew the answers to half my problems. I wish, I wish, I wish ... Maybe if God was just a little closer to this earth, he could help us a little more, or if we were a little closer to God, we could help ourselves. Anyway, it's a bigmess, and I'm right in the middle! I justwonder how many people in one day give me their advice, when they, themselves, don't even know what they're doing, where they are going, or where they have been? I suppose everyone is in the habit of freely giving advice, but rarely taking it! I've often wondered, what has happened to all the love and understanding in the world? In my desperate search for love and the things that go with life, I can't find any of them. I can’t find peace, I can't find freedom, I can't find America. I can't even find myself! And what would all these things be without myself. Without really knowing myself. It appears that some individuals try to find self through the use of drugs, through a different religion, or through an escape from reality. Through the use of drugs it appears that one loses self, and a different unreal religion leads to nothing. And those who choose to escape from reality have no self tostart with. But those of us who are something and would like to discover themselves, are in many ways denied this privilege. Regardless if anyone ever finds self, life will go on, and on, and on. My life is very young. I want to do something beautiful with my life. And I'm gonna search until I CAN FIND something beautiful. And if I happen to step on you, or hurt you in anyway on my quest for something beautiful in life, I hope you will be able to forgive me, by letting me share that beautiful thing with you. I hope you don’t think I'm sounding like a hippie. Maybe I am. Anyway I'm not knocking hippies. I will not put you down because your skin is black or white, because your hair is long or short, or because you are rich or poor. We are all the same. Youare you and I am I. And if we can see eye to eye and shake each others hand, then that is something beautiful. And if we can find self and love and God and peace, then we are beautiful.
