A. Hollo- well, The Senior Class of Trimble County High School proudly Dedicates this 1964 ELBMIRT. As an educator who has worked tirelessly toward the improvement of Trimble County schools, he has cast himself boldly into the battle for progress. We appreciate both the individual interest he has shown in us and his continuing efforts to raise the standards of our high school program. We are deeply grateful for his scope of character, his concern for teen-agers, and his genuine appre- ciation of life and the best it has to offer. On Friday, November 22, 1963, the student body and faculty of TCHSassembled in the gym to listen on the loudspeaker to the incredible, shocking report that Presi- dent 'J. F. Kennedy had been shot. Then the newscaster announced, The President is dead. There were tears and sad disbelief. As we stood and sang The Star Spangled Banner , the words were never sadder or more personal. We should answer, we should tell you Tis the shining spot of Trimble In the land we love--Kentucky. Nestled Tong the curving river In the broad Ohio Valley, Trimble stretches north through Milton, South to Patton's Creek and Sligo, East to counties Carroll and Henry. Tis an area dotted richly With friendly homes and farmlands, Older homes, large and historic, Newer homes in growing small towns. Homes that house the teen-age students Of the Trimble County High School. Historic Preston Place now the Gayle Rodgers farm. U. S. 421 just turning bend down Milton hill. County Court House at Bedford Commuting daily to the red brick Come the boisterous, gay five hundred, To the many tasks assigned them In their hallowed hall of learning. Set between two US highways Running ribbon-like through Trimble. From each county nook and byway Come the hopes and dreams of parents That their offspring at the high school Will aspire to useful knowledge, Store fond memTies, cement friendships, Mark the sunny hours together For a worthy contribution To their fair homeland of Trimble. 12 COPY OF ACT CREATING TRIMBLE COUNTY IN 1837. We. of the Class of '64, oft pause and kindly gaze At pictured grads preceding us, who must recall the days When they too tread these very halls. Fun-loving youth, they were. Their echoes resound around us, dimming today's brief whir. Soon we’ll leave to join them, in the proud T. C. Alumni, May we be recalled as kindly in the Halls of Trimble High. Please tell me. Miss Senior, what Trimble County High School really has to offer me. L I S E I Come with me and I will show you what Trimble County High School has to offer you and all who enter its portals. 15 jk ScJwol StMjd We stroll down the walk and greet old friends.
