Years pass and with them pass the melodies of the years. With a final flourish of the conductor's baton, the symphony of 1946-1947 draws to a close. Perhaps we should not call it a symphony, for there were many more than the usual three or four themes to this composition. From its introduction in September until its finale in May, this elaborate instrumental work has brought with it experiences, pleasant and un- pleasant, to those who were a part of it. If this book recalls these joys and sorrows, its purpose will have been accomplished. May you play again and again the symphonic strains of 1946-1947.

DEDICATION With two helping hands and an apparently boundless capa- city for work, she has, in her years as a teacher at Triadelphia High School, earned the love and respect of all those with whom she has come in contact. I Love Life is the theme song of her existence and has become, through her unconscious example, the keynote of all those who were associated with her. Not only loved and respected here at Triaclelphia High School, she is honored throughout che entire community, where she appears to have become the Middle C about which all musical activities are centered and on which they have their foundations. So it is, that we, the Staff of The 1947 Triad, dedicate this yearbook to one who, amid the sharps and flats on the score of her life, has struck a true natural in her relations and associations with both students and colleagues, Miss Virginia Brand.
