To most of us, the city Board of Education is a group of men and women who meet every third Thursday of the month. However, the board plays an important role in the student's daily life. The books he reads are bought by the board. The teachers who tutor him are chosen by the board. The school he goes to was built by authorization of a school board. Fred E. Cowl is president, J. P, McHenry, superintendent of schools, acts as secretary. Mrs.. Lottie Albinger, John H4 Clark, William J, Garden and Howard D. Matthews complete the board. A vote of thanks should be given to these people who uphold our schools fine curricula to these who are not Bored of Education but Board of Education Levering Bonar AB MA J P McHenry BSEd MEd C B Mont gomery AB MA superintendents Hired or fired promoted or transferred a teacher is placed by the superintendents When our furnace broke down and the school bus was in an accident the superintendents tore theirhair An added worry this year has been getting enough teachers because of wartime conditions Text books library books repairs and financial matters are supervised by them lf school buildings are in a run down state the superintendents look after them J P McHenry B S Ed M Ed is superintendent of Ohio county schools and also secretary of the board of education His assistants are l.
