In their own league, the team lost only two games and Worked right up to the position of finalist in the district. Count- ing the loss in the last game with East Strouds- burg, the team suffered only four defeats all season as compared with 20 victories. The team had a total of 107 stolen bases of which 66 of these resulted in runs. The team Worked the opposition for 92 walksg 38 blossomed into runs. Seventeen batters were hit by pitched balls and 5 of these resulted in runs scored. In 1955 the team Won five games by a single run margin while losing on two occasions by a single run. This compares with the same number of one run victories in 1954, and no losses. James R. Miller was the workhorse of the Hegins pitchers. Pitching nearly all of the im- portant games, he turned in a record of 13 wins and 2 losses. Both of his setbacks were by a single run: 1-0 to Hubley and 3-2 to East Strouds- burg. In addition to being the main pitcher James was also a good hitter. He led his team in hitting with a .396 followed closely by Carl Romlberger with .392.
