The Tri-County Summit The Summit is the highest peak on a mountain. It is the place every mountain climber wants to get to. In order to reach the summit the climber must work and sweat. He or she must use skills that have been learned, and by making mistakes, learn new skills. The climber must go on in spite of pain, weariness, and many setbacks. What is the reward? To get to the top. To get above the crowd and see the beauty of the world, and to know you earned every breathtaking sight you see. Learning is no easy task, either. It is work. It is tiring. It can be painful, and it often has setbacks. To achieve, a student must overlook all of this. He or she must keep climbing . ” What is the reward? Knowledge. Knowledge that enables the student to rely on himself and what he knows to get where he wants to go. Knowledge that enables the student to question those who would take away the rights of an unaware population. Knowledge that puts the student above the crowd where he can see the breathtaking sights that only the enlightened mind can see. Does receiving a High School Diploma mean you have reached the Summit? It means you have reached a Summit. But as every good climber knows, there's always another, more challenging peak to conquer. Good luck Graduates. May you always conquer the Summits that challenge you. Cover design by Jerry Thomas. Commercial Art. Book Title, The Summit, contributed by Rob Wyman.
