is . f:::iif5QS::znigigg::sifSxXQc2?Zi-::2227i-l::22j72-I::' 3'-f'iQwan 3JEwiFk jx QZ'z lx The progress of the Jmmesport High School Band has been greatly lmproved durlng the year under thelr new dl actor, Mr Stewart were There were twenty beglnners added to the band which ral es the personnel to forty four Among the appearances of the band were the Fox Hunt,Band Boosters' Club everf month All School Play bas ketball games JUDlOT Play, County Festlval, and Sprlng Conte t A swlng band entertained between the acts of the Senlor Play The band, a clarlnet solo, Bllly Rlchardson clarlnet quartet, K1me May, Rlchardson, Connell and a brass qu1ntett,Kl1ngensm1th,'h1tley, Schweer Harrlnvton, Pearson, entered ln the d1str1ct con tests and all returned wlth good or excellent rat ings The g1rls' and boys' glee clubs returned from the Q1StT1Ct contests wlth much success Marjorie Smlth, Ruth Noll, and Naoml Houston made up the glrls' tr1o and the boys' quartet was composed of Marvln Whltley, Norman Pearson, Bob Stephens, and Ralph Harrlngton Twenty girls composed the Drum Corps They marched at the Jamesport Tournament and the Twirl- ers entertained several times during the year. The final event of the music department was a concert presented the last week of school.
