ix 1::iifkb5::uiSEgg:aliQS5QQ22ilI:22?zi-::Q5Z7i:-:r Situ BOYS ATHLETICS The Jamesport Basketball team has played an ex citing and successful season, and has added three new trophies to the school collection They placed first in the Jamesport and Pattonsburg Invitation 11 tournaments and consolation in the county The Jeeps have won fifteen games out of twenty five, and regardless of victory or defeat they strived always for good sportsmanship The line-up for the first team was made up of the following boys: Tomlinson, Hesler, Courter, Sartain, Lollar, Kimberling, Harrington, Dixon, Pearson, and Kime. The following boys composed the B Team: Moore, Sharrah, Ware, Nicholas, Whitaker, Cox, Klingen smith, Pearson, Whitley, Ranes, and Wise. They entered two tournaments, Jamesport and Winston. The track team took second in the meet held at Pattonsburg being defeated by Winston. They won several ribbons and are proud of their excellent record. First in high jump, first in pole vault, second and third in shot put, third in 440 dash, second in lOO and 220 yard dashes, second in broad jump, and third in discus. The baseball team has done exceptionally well this season, suffering only one defeat, with Jame- son. They anticipate a good tournament and hope to return with the first trophy. ii 4 GRS A HLEICS The Jamesport Wmlyball Team of 1941 42 was com posed of a group of energetuzgirls who were excel lent sports as well as industrious players Of the eighteen games played this season,eleven were won They p rticipated in four tournaments, Janesport Invitational, Pattodsburg, county, and Coffey Jun ior High The girls were Ju tl proud of their new blue and white suits purchased in the fall, with proceeds from their rana nent of the tourna ment lunch room The team was composed of six seniors and four underclassmen They were Smith, Langford, Ball Gibson, Skidmore, Carder, lallory, Skidrore, Ill ler, and Gott Although the team will lose six of its veteran players we predict a successful future for the be ginners. They displayed their ability in the Jun- ior High Tournament at Coffey by defeating Mt. Mo- riah for third place. The freshmen girls playing on the team were: Gillilan, Houston, Johnson, Stevens, King, Connell, Kelley, Ward, Baker, and Miller. ' The baseball and track teams have been highly successful this year. In baseball the girls have played an undefeated season and are looking for- ward to winning the tournament.
