ACTING HELPS PRODUCE THE WELL ROUNDED GRADUATE WE ALL WISH TO BE Corinne's scheming doesn't help Joan's morale at all, since she has thus tar been without a boyfriend. However, she soon has a wild succession of them when Hi Baby CLeslie Collierl and J. J. ISteve Campbellb appear. When everything really begins to go well with the Mac- Donald family, Joan meets Ross CSteve Coryl-he is one of the five counselors at a near-by boys' camp. The audience now knows that everyone's major problem has been solved, and that the MacDonalds will remain on their beloved chicken farm. All the backstage crew, along with many others, worked exhaustingly to make this production of The Egg and I a fine success. No summary of the play would be complete without saying that Mrs. Bonner did a superb iob with these speech and drama students. I 207

The highly amusing play opens with Don MacDonald Ueff Shotwelli clumsily preparing for the arrival of his wife CSusan Parham! and daugh- ters, Anne fCaroI Archerl, and Joan fLinda Simpson! at their new home- the home is a chicken farm in the mountainous area of Washington. Betty and Don soon discover their neighbors to be Delicate Daisy lleslie Wienertl and her husband, Mr. Manic-Depressive lHaI Fullerl. The teenage girls regretfully find their new environment lacking in their most important commodity boys. However, it doesn't take Anne long to find Thad lDavid Whitei. He is a young man who is in the chicken business. After meeting Thad, Anne soon discovers that her only competition is Corinne CBarbara Pettyl.
