Mr. Polk graduated from Central High School in Memphis and obtained a B.S. and M.A. degree from Memphis State University. He continued to further his education and has presently almost completed his work toward his doctorate from the University of Tennessee. l X X M .11-1' In l l fl I0 'iw OUR PRINCIPAL A well-known man to Trezevantites is Mr. L. R. Polk, We see him often-working out our prob- lems, leading us in assemblies, and guiding visi- tors through our now-famous school. Having been principal since the school's estab- lishment in 1960, Mr. Polk is iustly credited with its growth and progress. Before he began his role as principal of Trezevant, he had been a teacher, an athletic coach, and an elementary school prin- cipal. A man of many interests, Mr. Polk is a Mason, a member of Kappa Sigma, Phi Delta Kappa, all principals' and teachers' associations, and attends Second Presbyterian Church. Despite his varied activities, Mr. Polk still finds ample time to devote to his wife, Dorothy, and their five children.

- i if ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL fun' -I I .. I ilf Prior to his promotion to the office of assistant principal, Mr. Hamilton taught Industrial Arts, Math, Science, and was a Guidance Counselor. He further dis- played his interest in young people as sponsor of the Radio Club. Mr. Hamilton's qualifications for the de- manding task of being in charge of the administrative responsibilities of this of- fice stem from the B.S. and M.A. degrees he earned while at Memphis State Uni- versity. This year Trezevant added another first to its list. This was our first year with an assistant principal, Mr. John Hamilton. He works diligently handling all the neces- sary student disciplinary actions and var- ious other administrative duties.
