Seniors How far ago And now as we the things that we, As Freshmen seve strange to them We off1cers They were Blahusch Secretary, Bostlan During the Semor Class H :story off and unattainable that name sounded four short years prepare to leave our Alma Mater, let us look back over the class of 1951, have accompllshed nty wide eyed students entered classrooms wh1ch were quite began our first year of h1gh school by electlng our class Jxm Perslng Pres1dent, Glenn Reed Vice Presldent, Marlene and Patsy Jenn1s Treasurer Our class advisor was Mrs year, we held w1ener roasts, skating parties, and a Chrlstmas party Two trlps were taken one to Wllllamsport to see the Freedom Train, and the other to ViS1t the battlefield of Gettysburg Mr Sheely and Miss Monahan accompanied us to the battlefield Our Sophomore year began with sixty of us electing class officers We chose Gary Parsons Presldent, Wayne Miller V1ce Pres1dent, Betty Bower Treasurer and Janice K1dron Secretary Our class advzsor was Mr Seelye We held a wiener roast at Relchert s Dam and a Halloween party in the gym To increase our financial status, we held skatlng parties which were quite successful Many members of our class took part in sports aCt1V1t1eS such as boys and girls' basketball baseball and football Many Sophomores also appeared in the gym 9Xh1b1t1ODS, at wh1ch we crowned a May queen, had calxsthenics, various types of danc1ng and roll1ng, tumbling, d1v1ng and other demonstrations of gymnast1c skill W1th the closzng of school for the summer, half of our high school career had passed and we looked forward to our Junxor year As Juniors, we considered ourselves quite important for in another year would be grand old Seniors Fifty Jolly Juniors returned to the1r studies the fall of 1949 We held elections and selected Jim Pers1ng to President, Glenn Reed Vice Presldent, Ned Kauffman Treasurer, and Janice Klrdon Secretary Mr Sheely did an excellent job as our Junior Class advlsor Our class sponsored a refreshment stand at all our home football games put on our annual sauerkraut supper, wh1ch was very successful, and staged our first class play, The Baby Sitter Miss Shade, our directress, helped us to achleve the success we met in our f1rst dramat1c presentation We selected our class r1ngs and everyone was dellghted w1th them We feted the Senior w1th a turkey dinner served 1D St Patrick s Church hall by the St Mary' Society and enjoyed by everyone At last we had reached our goal 1D high school We the the class of 1951 began activities by electing Jim Persing forty Seniors in as President Ned Marjorie Brosius Kauffman as Vice Pres1dent, Janlce Kidron as Treasurer and as Secretary Mr Carter was our class advisor During the first few class meetings we decided to publish Adieu the first annual in the history of Trevorton High School We conducted our annual Subscription campaign, which was to help finance our Senior class trip To uphold our dramatic reputation, we presented 'Quit Your Kidding a three act comedy It was very successfully directed by Mrs Clark Next on our agenda was the spaghetti supper, which was held in the homemaking room of the high school We then began planning our Class Night and Commencement programs The Class of 1952 played host to our class at the annual Junior Senior Banquet With the end of high school in sight we gladly toiled through two weeks of final examinations We anxiously awaited our Senior class trip and graduation exercises After the excitement of Baccalaureate, Class Night, Commencement and our class trip safely passed, we left the halls of Trevorton High with new f1e1d5 before us and new worlds to conquer 13 I O I ' v - .
