Business and Business Administration majors arc given broad training in liberal arts subjects and in addition take the core program in business. This major program is designed to prepare young men and women for careers in business and industry directly or through the many management training programs available in modern corporations. Accounting data is widely used by all types of businesses and by the government. Business Education are given training to make them effective teachers in secondary schools. Executive Secretarial, a course of study leading to the B.S. degree with a major in Business, is offered to students wishing to prepare themselves specifically for an executive secretary or other responsible personal secretarial positions. Fine Arts The department Is a member of the National Associaton of schools of Music, the accrediting agency for schools of music in universities and colleges. It provides opportunity for all students to broaden their understanding of music and art as cultural pursuits embracing aesthetic qualities. Recitals and programs are scheduled regularly, designed for the enjoyment of the listener as well as the development of talents of the performers. The department seeks to prepare musically educated individuals for various areas of performance, teaching, and church music, devel- oping both skill and a philosophy relevant to these areas.
