The guidance feature of Trevecca ' s educa- tional program is a vital and rapidly expand- ing service. Counseling in those areas for which there are no hook answers hecomes a truly edu- cative experience. The close teacher-pupil con- tacts open doors for guidance, and the Chris- tian helpfulness of professors is a source of challenge and security to questing minds. During the year some of the chapel services were used as training classes for personality development. A series of services featuring Christian laymen of various professions was especially helpful. The personnel services are under the direc- tion of Professor K. W. Phillips. Dr. F. Frank- lyn Wise serves as director of Vocational Guidance. Specialized training, wide experience, and constant study on the part of the counselors make the personnel services offered of great value. Women ' s Residence Halls. Seated: Irmgard Haerr, Martha Gray, Bettye Dent. Standing: Joyce Wood- ward, Nancy Sheridan, Thelma Bruckner, and Jean- nette Willis. Not Pictured: Wanda Miller and Bobbie McCullough. The Dee Cees, or Dorm Counselors, have a unique and dual function. First, as the name suggests, they become big brothers and sisters to freshmen or other students who would like to discuss their problems with someone on their own level. Then the members of the group serve as a liaison between the student body and the Dean of Students in matters concerning campus life. An outstanding contribution of the group has been the sponsorship of Saturday night social and program activities. The counselors of the residence halls, who are appointed in September, meet monthly for the discussion of problems and projects. The sponsor of the organization, Professor Leon Chambers, has ably assisted the group in car- rying out programs for the betterment of stu- dent life.
