THE CODNSELING PROGRAM The welfare and personal progress of fhe Individual sfudent Is fhe central purpose of our counseling progrann. This progrann rests squarely on the Christian principle of the great wor|-h of the Individual person and is moti- vated by faith in the possibility of every God-given personality being a growing person. The freshman counseling program has been carried on by six faculty counselors under the direction of the dean of students. The faculty member who directed the sessions of the small group Interviews was also the personal counselor for each student in this group. Much effective counseling — both formal and voluntary, has been done. Other faculty members have ac- cepted responsibility as general coun- selors with areas of specialization. The dormitory head residents have caught the spirit of the counseling program and have made an excellent contribu- tion. The dean of students In addition to being director of the various phases of the counseling program has found time to do a large amount of personal counseling. The president of the college, the dean of religion, the dean of arts and sciences, the registrar, the business manager and the high school principal give valuable guidance to our students in regard to many phases of college life.
