The purpose of the school is to provide each child with new experiences, opportunities and challenges that, if accepted and used in the right manner, will help to prepare him or her for the solving of problems and the making of decisions that will face them in future life. Education is a challenge and a privilege as well as an opportunity and so many only half-heartedly accept it, yet this is something that cannot be taken from you. Nothing can take its place. It is an essential part of the democratic way of life. Education is our most effective weapon against crime, ignorance, poverty and filth. Who is it that does not want what a good education offers? Time will soon send the opportunities into the past and beyond your reach. Count them as precious gold and gladly accept them because each is a rung in the ladder of life. Sincerely, 6 Homer L.
