2.35 HHLLUWEEN It was October 28, 1949-Halloween Carnival time at Trenton High! Spooks, cats, noise, food, and fun galore made it a real success. Every detail humanly possible fold mother nature really threatened us for awhile with a black 'look of fdisapprovalj was prepared well in advance so that the carnival spirit could reign supreme! Even the faculty lay buried peacefully in the faculty graveyard within a short distance of the teaming fish pond and the popular hot dog stand. The shouts of an auctioneer boomed loudly above the carnival chatter-- One dollar once, one dollar twice, one dollar three times- SOLD- to the highest bidder! The cakes were gone! Nine o'clock-the crowd shifted to the auditorium for a well planned amateur show. Students from kindergarten to high school showed forth their talents in a. professional way. No one dreamed of such talent! Every- thing from vocal solos and tap dancing to tumbling and heavy-weight lifting was rendered before an applauding audience. In the high school the first prize was awarded to The Two Nuts and an ldiot , namely Charles Rogers, Woodburn Schofield, and Millard Stanley for their interpretation of Clancy Lowered the Boom . The second prize went to the tumbling team, Bobby Hawkins, Harry Coleman, and Billy and Edward Martin. To climax the evening of entertainment two door prizes were given to Mr. Horace Arrington and Miss Myrtle jones, holders of the lucky tickets. So passed another Halloween hilariously spent. 22.
