Community Officials Play Host to T. H. S. Pupils During Social-Study Tour School and Communit Unite or a More Effective Education NIJINTRY, business and government of Trenton have shoyvn more than the layman's interest in the program of edu- cation offered for youth at Central High School. NVhen a survey of local business and industry was conducted by Samuel liberly, the Director of the Student Placement Bureau, he found that there vvas a manifest desire on the part of all vvhom he interviewed to make sugges- tions and cooperate for the vvelfare of Trenton's youth. ln some instances busi- nessmen have given opportunities to Trenton lligh pupils to enter their estab- lishments and gain experience In supple- ment their study tif commerce at school Government otlicials. too, have been gracious in permitting hundreds of the students enrolled in the Social Studies courses to visit all the municipal build- ings in order to learn their functions in the community. hcores of professional men have given unstintingly of their time to come to the school on Study Day to advise groups of students vvho have stated their interests in specific professions. The concerted drive of the school and the community to unite in a program of education augurs vvell for the future.
