HISTORY As graduahon day draws near and we, the sen1ors of '49 look back over four long years of hard study and happy tlmes, we wr1te th1s h1story Wlth sad ness 1n our hearts and perhaps a tear or two 1n our eyes We entered T C H S as freshmen 1n the year of 1945 w1th an enrollment of 38 Be1ng the largest class 1n school and bemg an extraordmary and out standlng group we 1mmed1ately dlsplayed our br1ll1ancy by selectlng the com petent and quallfled Dwayne Stuber as presldent Asslstmg h1m 1n the great task were Gale Barton as v1ce presldent Joan Cotton as secretary Merla H1cks as treasurer and J1m Strunk as the student counc1l representatlve We chose Coach Wolf as our adv1sor Dur1ng the flrst semester, J1m and Phyllxs Van Buren moved away wh1le Joanne Heacock and V1rg1l ROb1S0n Jomed the class 1n the second semester Returmng to the marble halls 1n hopes of makmg the hump of our second year, we were d1smayed to fmd that we lost Betty Owens and Dorothy Daget Our class offxcers were presldent, J1m Strunk v1ce presldent, Dwayne Stuber, secretary Mar1lyn Uns1cker and treasurer, Don N1euk1rk Our student counc1l members were Jeanette Boll1ger and Ke1th Toepfer Mr Wolf was agaln chosen as our class adv1sor We began our Jun1or year w1th M1ss Schmeder as our new class adv1sor members Evelyn Dlegel and Lou1se Mclrwm, but we lost two dur1ng the year Alonzo and Venc1l Stone wh1ch kept our enrollment at 34 We chose as our class off1cers presxdent, K1tty Chadock v1ce pres1dent Gale Barton sec retary, Thelma Babb1tt, and treasurer, Ke1th Toepfer The student counc1l members were Jeanette Boll1ger, Mar1lyn Uns1cker and Dwayne Stuber The h1ghl1ghts of the year were lanyway to us they werel the Jumor Play Foot loose ', and the Jumor Semor Banquet and Prom at Peor1a We, as Soph1st1cated Semors casually strolled 1nto the halls of T C H S w1th 29 members to f1n1sh our last year The members we lost over the sum mer were Evelyn D1egel Joanne Heacock, Joanne Keller R1chard Lu1ck, Donna Hendershott and V1rg1l Rob1son We galned one member Luc1lle Wxldermuth We chose our presldent, Don Ne1uk1rk, wxth much thoughtfulness because th1s was our semor year, and as h1s able ass1stants, we elected Dwayne Stuber as v1ce pres1dent K1tty Chadock as secretary, and Thelma Babb1tt as treasurer The student counc1l members were Mar11yn Uns1cker, Jeanette Boll1ger, Ke1th Toepfer, and Elmon Koch Superlntendent Stone rexgned supreme as our class adv1sor And so now we b1d a tearful farewell to dear old Tremont H1gh We shall long remember the happy days we spent there and the Joyous memorles we have shared wxth our classmates Pave 14 , . , 1 '- n . .
