,I The DRAMATIC CLUB has engaged in a good many activities this year. At Christmas, with the music de- partment we presented a one-act play, A Song of Glory. In the spring we gave a three-act play. The club has attended some of the theater productions of the- city, such as South Pacific and The Taming of the Shrew. The otticers are: President, Ronnie Smith, Vice-Presi- dent, JoAnn Feingold, Secretary, Ann McGrew, Treasurer, Wanda Martin, Social Chairmen, Mary Sim- ersan and Sam Evans, Chaplain, Barbara Ferguson. V -1 The HI-Y is a service club of the Y.M.C.A. It is not a religious or- ganization, but it feels a responsi- bility toward the young people in helping them to realize the high standards of Christian living. The creed of the HI-Y is To create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high standards of Christian character. These principles are based on clean living, clean speech, clean scholar- ship, and clean sports. The oflicers of the HI-Y CLUB are: Pres., Bill Young, Vice-Pres., Buddy Wintker, Sec., Walter George, Treas., Tommy Nichols, Chaplain, Joe Boales, Sergeant at Arms, Larry House, Adult Advisor, Mr. R. After reports have been given on the subiect for discussion, mem- bers work together to put the plan into effect. Members of this Club encourage other capable students to study Latin. .iF'2f?Ef'1'2t ff'- - .kgs ,sw Q The SENIOR Y-TEENS began at Treadwell three years ago and has been a fast grow- ing club. Last year, in order to raise money for world service, all the girls sold potato chips. The purpose of Y-Teens is to develop friendship and fellowship with girls from other schools. In the summer, the officers go to conference at Hardy, Arkansas and learn to be better otTicers. President- Marilyn Gallaspy, Vice-President-Mamie Freeman, Secretary-Charlotte G o i n g s , Treasurer-Peggy Shaw, Social Chairmen- Wanda Martin, Sandra Bruce, Pat Hillard, Basketball Manager-Marjorie Smith. The JUNIOR LATIN CLUB meets once each month for the purpose of discussing sub- iects related to Latin. The program may be presented in the form of reports, short plays, or lectures given by guests who are interested in the Classics. Games and con- tests involving a knowledge of Latin en- liven the meetings. sixtyenine

The purpose of the TRI-Hl-Y is to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community high standards of Chris- tian character. The otticers are: President, Elizabeth Rodgers, Vice- President, Linda Cole, Secretary, Glenda Bradtordp Treasurer, Elinor Smith, Chaplain, Joyce Hall, Ser- geant-at-Arms, Sandra Bruce and Pat McNeal, Social Chairmen, Char- lene Beard and Marilyn Gallaspy. The Treadwell SCIENCE CLUB is made up of about one hundred students who are taking physics or chemistry. Our club is affiliated with Science Clubs of America. Some obiectives of our Science Club is to stimulate interest in the sciences, to help students to develop scien- tific attitudes and ways ot thinking, and to help boys and girls to for- mulate a philosophy of life that is wholesome and workable. Club members enioy numerous outstand- ing educational motion picture films and field trips to places of interest. The officers of the Science Club are: Buddy Wintker, President, Notman Guidry, Vice-President, Dolly Daw- kins, Secretary, Albert Rushton, Treasurer, Mike Moyers and Eliza- beth Rodgers, Program Chairmen. ' was In SPEECH ll we do the practical things that are learned in SPEECH I. We work with Stage craft, theatre arts, lighting, stage areas, make up, and costuming. However we cover all phases of advanced speech, such as correction, speech contest, debate and discussion. We have produced some one-act plays, and participated in the T.l.L.l. tournament. The highlight of the year was the Southern Speech Convention at Dallas, Texas. seve n ty-o n e
