'Memories ' Of School Acfivifies The school year 1973-'74 provided many 'memo- ries' for Travis Jr. High School students and faculty. Riding on a crowded bus, standing in the lunchline, having a pop test over a chapter in science Cwhich you did not readh, and participating in school activi- ties helped to make this a year to remember. The ninth grade and the eighth grade students are eagerly looking forward to attending a new school. Next season will bring an entirely new look to the hallowed halls of TJHS. RIGHT: Vickie Douglas and Gary Mitchell show much enthusiasm and interest at the beginning of school. Texan ' 2 We, THE TEXAN staff, are grateful to the Lamar County Echo for assisting with photography in the sports section. A special 'thanks' goes to Mr. Jack Corey, the art instructor, for art work on the cover of our book . As you thumb through this book, we hope you will be able to remember all the little things that space would not allow. It has truly been a year filled with 'memories.' LEFT: Kim Patterson, a member of one of the art classes spent five days of hard work to draw and paint the 'run-through' for the Red and White Day football game.

Travis Student Body Selecfed As ABOVE: Some of the members of Coach LaRue's Red Team are introduced during a pep rally. They are CL. to RJ Brad Patterson, David Maynard, Ken Bills, Larry Aiken, Wil- liam Cooper, and Earl Posey. The student body had been a great asset to Travis Ir. High, for without them, Travis could not exist. They have shown interest in activities at school as well as outside projects. Therefore, THE TEXAN staff thinks it appropriate to dedicate THE '74 TEXAN to the student body. .3 X if Texan ' 4 BELOW: Patti Thomas, Lisa Gay, and Janet Driver will surely have 'memories' of the pounds they gained from their banana splits .
