E... . The above is a picture of the first school house in Manor. It was built in 1858 and was for girls only. It contains one large room, with an entrance for stair- way. The upper floor was used by the Masonic Lodge. For s nu ber of years this was a private school and was called Parson's Female Seminary. They also had a school for boys. The following trustees paid for the school: Judge Tovmes, C5003 Judge Parsons, S5003 T. ll. Rector, 85005 Ed. Harrington, S5005 J. B. Manor, S250, and Borhens, 8250. C. Yellowly of South Carolina was the first teacher The next in order were D. H. Bittle, Joe Rogers, and W. I. Wroe. T. E. Bittle taught here fourteen years.
