Now I Understand!!! In rhe Sodol Studies deportment, almost os many learning experiences were gained outside rhe classroom as in it. Crime and Justice students visited courtrooms andpits, future psychologists tools surveys ond polls, and sociology people dowsed for water. Once ogoin this year, sophomores were required to take o doss colled American Perspectives, to march rhe juniors' Consumer Economics and rhe seniors' American Government. When asked about the value of these dosses, students' reactions ranged from: ''It's going to help me o lor when I get our of school, I con relate to it, to It helps me to understand why things are rhe way they are now. Perhaps this is rhe best way to sum up Social Studies dosses: on understanding of our way of life ond rhe people in it.
