 We're number one was the cry heard in the fall of 1975, and we were. While the football team captured the LMAC title, the cheerleaders took a 1st at Grand Nationals (U.S.C.A.) and a 2nd in the State Championship (D.C.A.). This year the cheerleaders had an addition to their regular squad-coach Miss Pat Drzwiecki. Jan Demin and Chris Deering were the cocaptains of the Varsity while Sherri Hutson was captain of the J.V.'s. Along with cheering at our games, the cheerleaders sponsored a dance and judged the Elk Rapids tryouts. 6
