Concert Season Starts Well With Both Bands Under New Direction The Traverse City High School Concert and Symphony Bands, along with the Wind Emsemble, began their first year under the direction of Gregory L. Talford. Mr. Dennis )ohnson, formerly the assistant director to Mr. Hegerberg, has taken over the Concert band. The Wind Ensemble, now in its second year of existence, also is directed by Mr. Talford. Both bands are working hard as they prepare for the M.S.B.O.A. District Festival to be held on February 22. Newly formed this year, is the 1975 Pep Band. In years past, it has been known as the Trojan Brass and consisted of brass players only. The pep band has performed at all of the home basketball games. The bands have had many activities this year, including the Christmas Concert, performed with the Choir and Orchestra, and the Mid-Winter Concert.

Students Take to the Road Mystery Dents Reported in Student Parking Lot As school came back in session after summer, students whose automobiles were parked in the student lot, were panicked at the thought of new drivers using their cars (or their parent's cars) as crash barriers. The driving range's once again became known as “the obstacle course by the driver education students, much to the dismay of their licensed peers. It must be noted more seriously that through the efforts of Mr. Jim Raymond and Mr. Al Elzinga, over 200 students per semester during the school year alone receive an operator's license. il Mr. Raymond Mr. Elzinga 2 1. Students give full attention as their instructor lectures. 2. Mr. Raymond keeps close watch on new drivers on the range. 3. Students take time to talk before class begins. 4. New drivers cautiously eye another of the ranges hairpin turns. 3 19
