TWILIGHT CONCERTS As the dizzy rush of fhose early days of school faded into the hushed twilight of September eve- nings, concerts on the steps of Morrison claimed our interest. Besides being the first musical events of the year, the concerts provided a con- venient excuse for freshmen girls to escape from the dorm on Monday night. The dark, deserted (well, practically deserted) steps were lighted, and we listened to the strains of another new band. Faculty and students ouped themselves on the circular drive and grassy campus, while recently united and re- united couples lingered in the shadows. Many a romance sprang up on those first few nights, as both new and old male students looked over the fresh supply of girls. Those young things, newly emancipated from long dresses, pig-tails, and unpowdered noses, learned that music appreciation and campusology can be pleasantly combined. I ri? ' ' c;. - :
