Commencement On September 5th, our annual Commencement ceremonies took place. Many of our graduates returned from a wide range of Universities, where they are presently studying, to receive their diplomas and awards. The Valedictorian, Afshan Javed, gave a very touching farewell that brought tears to the eyes of those who would dearly miss the graduating class. We were particularly proud of both Nicole Taylor who won many awards, including the University of Womens ' Club of Oshawa Scholarship and Judy Wong who won the University of Toronto Open Admissions Scholarship. Our new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Mitchell, spoke of the past, present and, most importantly, future of our school. The sense of pride that he expressed in his address was shared by the girls in uniform, as well as the girls in white dresses. We would Hke our graduates to know that we will never forget them and we hope that they will Be ever true to our dear Blue and Blue of T.C.S. Best of luck in the future. The S.F. Bazaar As president of the S.F., I can personally say the bazaar this year was a great success. Of course, I ' m biased but I ' ve no doubt everyone will agree! This year we expanded the international table into separate pavilions! And the efforts of the girls involved was just great. Also we tried a Kissing Booth this year... What can I say, a kissing booth is just a kissing booth! We did cheat, though, by handing out chocolate kisses! The Whitby paper even caught a certain happy couple exchanging more than chocolate. (Not naming any names, Tracy!) I must say that on the big day I nearly died from panic, but as usual all my group came through in full force (and effort!) I don ' t know why I doubted them. I want to personally and publicly thank everyone, teacher and student, who participated this year. Without you, it couldn ' t have been a success. As you may have noticed, the S.F. title changed. Since I joined, I hoped it also indicates a change in pace for the group. I have enjoyed being president and have discovered that although it ' s a bit scary, at first, it ' s also loads of fun. I hope my replacement has as much fun as I did and an opportunity to make the friends that I did. Ayesha Khan President of S.F.
