Kraig ' s Kristmas Karol Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the castle Not a creature was stirring, not even Gaye Russell. The trunks were all packed on the halls by the score Ready to fly off to a far-distant shore. The girls were all nestled all snug in their cots With visions of home cooked meals of which there ' d be lots. The Dean in her snuggies was curled up in bed Lights out, girls was the last thing she ' d said. When out on the heart there rose such a noise She sprang from her bed convinced it was boys. She thought of poor Petra and wondered who ' d save her Then relaxed when she remembered the brave Mrs. Shaver. So off through the halls in slippers she scurried Her face plainly showing that still she was worried. Come quickly she called out, needing more hands To Chester and Kirby, Johnson and Sands. Soon they were joined by Linton and Lee This posse descended the stairs - what to see? There in the hall that is used for our dining Was gathered a crowd of young ladies a pining From Ryerson Lower and Frances Upper They all stood around the man eating his supper. The Dean dashed in muttering shoosh, shoosh. But Santa continued munching his push. Fear not, my dear Dean shouted old Saint Nick I will finish my push and be out of here quick. Then he rose from his chair so each clearly could see Across the back of his red jerkin it said S.A.C. From his bundle he pulled gift after gift Each one designed to give a girl a lift. For Sandy Menkes he had a blonde wig And Miller, Anne a smile that was big. For Christine H. he had an alarm clock For mornings she didn ' t hear the Dean ' s knock. For Read who ' s called Sarah some warm winter woolies For those mornings when her dad ' s car needs the pullies. For Cathy McGill a new pair of heels And Susan S. a gentle horse that just kneels. For Lori Belliveau an electric heater And Tracy and Melanie a room that was neater. For Lisa and Christine and Kelly-Ann Black He dug deeper and deeper into his sack And quickly pulled out three boys - all good looking Who also could do the washing and cooking. For Tina and Laura a couple of mora Who happened to be from the town of Aurora. And finally spying the Dean with the blues He gave her a pair of red running shoes. Then for the door he did suddenly leap And into his sleigh, an old Chevrolet. As he drove off in his broken down heap He was heard to say Have a cool Christmas Day. 28
