Although the team was fast and scrappy a lack of height and a few bad breaks ruined chances for a better record. Several games were lost in the last few seconds of play. The team did fairly well in the County Tournament, finishing fourth by de- feating Toledo Juvenile Home and Garwin, then los- ing to Dysart in the semi-finals and to Dinsdale in the consolation finals. The Redhawks lost a first round game to Toledo in the Sectional Tournament. Several returning lettermen hope to make a more im- pressive record next season although a height prob- lem will again exist. Injuries to key men, keeping them out of important meets, hurt the chances of the team to have a better record. Don Martin won first, Tony Philp and Mirvin Dalbey won seconds, Ron Mason won third, and Lawerance Podhajsky won fourth in the district meet. Tony Philp went on to win third in state.
