Lettermen Fwst row: James Andrews, Ron Karr, Larry Halupnick, Don Garvey, Lawerance Podhajsky, Ron Mason, Gordon Young, Steve Andrews. Second row: Don Podhajsky, Larry Manfull, Darrell Sivertsen, Roger Knoop, Craig Earley, Leonard Boerm, Eugene Zmolek, Gary Klarr, Larry Nation. I0 Traer started off the season with a victory over Toledo and seemed headed toward a bright future. But then a plague of injuries hit the team, sidelining key players. Every senior was hit with an injury that put him out of at least one game. Only one senior dressed for the last game. Flu struck the team too, disabling most of the players who weren't hurt by injuries. The epidemic caused the cancellation of the last three games. With underclassmen taking the seniors' places, the team still put up a respectable showing, tying LaPorte City, losing by one touchdown to Reinbeck and Jesup in games that could have gone eith'er way. and losing tough bat- tles to Grundy Center and Eldora. Because of many underclassmen gaining valuable ex- perience this year, a successful season is ex- pected next year. 28 Traer 14 ....,.... Toledo Traer 7 ......... Reinbeck Traer 7 .........
