0 Yi lifdly No Kimberly diamond, no pearl of the An- tilles can match the treasure trove of a simple, quiet library. The walls and buildings housing our rows of books do not shimmer with the irridescent glow of gems, but effervesce, nontheless, with the thoughts of giant and charlatans among men. Thoughts that are imperfect and incomplete-thoughts that en- circle the globe and poke impudently into the sec- rets of the sprawling universe--cohabit these shelves. Thoughts tawdry and towering are here on equal base for us to judge. These books provide the food that urges young men in libraries to think thoughts yet more blundering in their quest for arcana of creation. Purpose, hope., guidance., and truth nestle in the chimera of a library. Books have led some to learning and others to madness. PETRARCH There's more to it then stamping out books. A good bit of technical work -typing,mimeographing and other secretarial duties is not a small part of an efficiently run college. Throughout the Administration Building many women sit behind desks doing work which enables the plans of the higher-ups to be run smoothly. Few know the intricacies of their jobs, but judging from the output of the various oifices, these women have proven themselves a competent staff on which the Administration can rely. 'Sf J ...J MRS. Need an aspirin? Then the col- lege health center is the place for you. Their able staff will cure your every ill. Our amiable friend., Fergie., has served us well and, though she is no longer the mainstay of the infirmary, she'll always be remembered. She could give our morale that nec- essary boost and brighten our day with her friendly smile. Dr. Phelan, too, has helped us all. Always on call., he saw us through our pre-freshman physicals and our college colds. Hats oil' to two unsung per- sonalities who deserve a lot of credit.
