TC IS THE STUDENT COUNCIL On Monday mornings, when the school vibrates with week-end anecdotes, the Stu- dent Council assembles to plan future TC events. Primarily, the Student Council is an important liasion between faculty and the students. With Sister Rita Gertrude ' s en- couragement, the Council (composed of four directing senior officers and the president, vice-president, and secretary of each home- room) strove for its current aims: 1 — to deepen faith by recitation of the rosary; 2 — to promote scholarship and personal integ- rity; 3 — to foster a living school spirit. — BD Sister Rifa Gertrude administers the pledge of office to Betsy Beck, Student Council President. Below, Father Rafferty congratulates President Betsy, Treasurer Barbara Tassone, Vice-President Rich Herbig, Secretary Rich Cramblitt, and urged students to cooperate effectively with their officers in all school projects.

Worth it! Just admitted to the National Honor Society, these juniors have begun to see that hard work pays ofF. Pam Schettler lights the candle of service as Mary Karen Andrews, Lucille Flanagan, Clara Finnegan, Tom Wandishin, Tom Pey- ton, Ken Maskell, Henry Fiorini look on. Elaine Diggs, also a new member, was absent when the picture was taken. When TC has fun, well, it has fun! Seniors here are reacting to the Fall Variety Show (part of the immortal Fall Bake) probably when Warren Starkloff and his pals had the center of the stage. All at once, I k n o tv a little about WHY 31

After the Instailotion Ceremony on September 18, the Student Council functioned in a varied program. Members sponsored the successful an- nual dance, performed duties in individual homerooms, promoted the honor system, and this year participated actively in the newly formed Student Council Union of Baltimore. TC ' s Student Council is not a dis- ciplinary body but a significant link which plans, discusses, and acts upon its decisions for the betterment of the school. 33
