CLASS HISTORY The Senior Class entered high school as mere freshmen in the fall of l954. Our class was rather small with nine students. They were Joyce Strum, John Tucker, Barbara Nethery, Helen Rose O'Geary, Ray Keeton, Billy Walker, Betty Lou Wright, Winston Keeton, and Harold Matthews. The class officers were: President, John Tucker, Vice-President, Barbara Nethery, Secretary-Treasurer, Helen Rose O'Geary. Our homeroom teacher was Mrs. Mac Satterwhite. In the fall of i955 we entered the so phomore class with only five of our original class. We lost Harold Matthews, Ray Keeton, Billy Walker, and Betty Lou Wright, but we gained three new students. Rodgers Boswell came to us from Warrenton. Barbara Matthews also came to us from Franklinton. Marie Norwood decided she'd rather be in our class so she dropped back a year for us. The class officers were: Joyce Strum, President, Vice- President, John Tucker, Secretary-Treas urer, Barbara Nethery. Mrs. Bullock was our homeroom teacher and sponsor. - In i956 we were all promoted to high headed Juniors. We had eight students in our class. Miss Lyles wasour sponsor and we had a very successful year. We gave our Junior play March 15, T957. Everybody had a role in the play and we thought it was very good. The title of it was June Fever. We also gave the Seniors a swell banquet on May IO, l957. Mrs. Jessie Harris was our homeroom teacher. Our Junior year was a very happy one, but we were all glad to see the end of that year, because we knew the next step would be the last. We all entered our Senior year with happy smiles because we were proud Seniors. Our class officers are: President, Barbara Nethery,Vice-President, Joyce Strum, Secretary, Hel en O' Geary, Treasurer, Barbara Matthews, and Historian, John Tucker. We have a whole new faculty this year and we all like them very much. We gained Ollie May Haring from Sumter, South Carolina, which built our class back up to nine. There are nine seniors now and are eagerly looking forward to going up on the stage of old T.H.S. and receiving our diplomas, which we have been striving for, for these last twelve years. JOHN TUCKER Historian
