As a vice Admiral durine World Vilar ll, ne served as Gommander Naval Air Porce Pacific Eleet, suoseduently as Deouty Gommander in Gnief Pacific Eleet and finally as Gommander Task Eorce SS. Pollowine tne war, Admiral Towers assumed duty as Gommander Eiftn Pleet wnile aooard USS NEVV JEPSEY in Yokosuka, Jaoan. Prior to nis retirement in Decemoer 1 947, Admiral Towers served as Gommander in Gnief Pacific Pleet.
