To Mr. Coates: It is to you, Mr. Coates, that the Senior Class dedicates this piece of itself, the 1960 Evergreen. It is not an empty gesture made because of tradition but rather an honest and heartfelt thank you for your interest and guidance in all our projects. Since our ninth grade year, we have always had you to fall back on, and it was reassuring indeed to know that you were there and willing to lend us a hand. This hand was readily extended to us for trivial problems too, for to you, any of our troubles were worthy of consideration. There were times when we ourselves doubted our ability, but after talk- ing with you, we emerged ready to tackle anything. You can be sure that we were all pleased and proud to learn that you were chosen to be our new headmaster this year. Whatever the future may hold, Mr. Coates, we know that you will con- tinue to do an outstanding Rib in all your endeavors. The Class of 1960 is the richer for knowing you!

FOREWORD Another year has come and goneg a year like any other year perhaps, when compared to the infinite sweep of time, but to us, the class of 1960, a year to be remembered. It is a year that marks an important division in our lives. As our graduation day approaches, we look back with mixed feelings on our period of basic learning. While we are reluctant to leave the carefree days of our childhood and adolescence, we are eager to look forward and to accept the challenge of maturity and of life itself. The class of 1960 sincerely thanks Tower Hill for the privi- lege of its academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities. Sadly, but not regretfully, we leave the embracing arms of Tower Hillg yet we embark upon this next phase of our life with enthu- siasm and optimism. A We hope that this 1960 Evergreen will convey to you some of the memories that have made our Senior year so enjoyable.
