MARGARET WEST DAY Always considered one of the most intellectual and conscientious mem- bers of our class, Margaret has been the envy of the rest of us for her outstanding marks. Never the less, lVIargaret's quick sense of humor is displayed in any situation. Margaret has made many contributions around the school with her literary talents. As the first editor of As You Like Il, Margaret played an important role in the establishment of Tower Hill's literary magazine. At the monthly Dial meetings, you can always be sure that in one corner you will find Margaret disputing with the other feature editors. lVlargaret's acting ability has won her lead roles in plays for the past two years. In her junior year she portrayed the part of Mrs. Midget in Outward Bound, and this year she played the role of Aunt Abby in Arsenic and Old Lace. Margaretls subtle humor and naivete made her a success in both these parts. As a winner of many scholastic honors, Margaret is going to Rad- cliffe to complete her education. There she is sure to be successful in any fields which she chooses to enter. 27

BARBARA MCCAIN DAWSON Upon peering into the Senior Room, one might see a slim blonde girl exhorting her classmates to bring in their pledge moneyg or the same blonde girl engaged in a vigorous tweaking battle with the male members of the Senior Class. Barbie, better known as Smiley, is always laughing and talking. She is one of the few Seniors who has the remarkable ability of studying while adding to the general chaos. Babs enters into all of her activities with an inexhaustible energy and determination to do her best. This year she filled the mammoth office of Secretary of the Social Service Committee. Her contributions to the Drkzl and the Evergreen have been in- valuable. As a soprano in the chorus, Barbie led the gossip corner in the back row. She also participated in .l.V. hockey and varsity tennis. Undoubtedly Barbie's most famous qualities are her flashing smile and cheerful willingness to work. RICHARD ANSEL DOBBS ln ninth grade 6'Brother Richard joined the ranks as the class shekel keeper. ln that same year he put his art talents to work by designing our first highly successful class dance. Realizing that here was valuable ability, the Class of '60 kept Dick on the decoration end of its tenth grade dance, the Junior Cyp and the extravagant Junior Prom. As a Junior Achiever in eleventh grade, Dick could be found in the hall cornering one of his many friends for a sales pitch on the nylon teddy bear his ,lalon Company was selling. His business abilities also made him one of the most adroit ad-men during the early months of the E11ergreen's existence. Dick is also known for his ability to get the best performance from anything from a station wagon to a motor scooter, yet, at the same time, to keep repair bills fairly low. This activity has brought him many lasting friend- ships with motorcycle dealers and drag racing fans. As the boy with the most infectious smile and the most innocent who me expression, Dick has often averted any serious faculty action when a par- ticularly riotous hack has been quelled by his look of complete wonder and a well timed quip. 28
