BARBARA MCCAIN DAWSON Upon peering into the Senior Room, one might see a slim blonde girl exhorting her classmates to bring in their pledge moneyg or the same blonde girl engaged in a vigorous tweaking battle with the male members of the Senior Class. Barbie, better known as Smiley, is always laughing and talking. She is one of the few Seniors who has the remarkable ability of studying while adding to the general chaos. Babs enters into all of her activities with an inexhaustible energy and determination to do her best. This year she filled the mammoth office of Secretary of the Social Service Committee. Her contributions to the Drkzl and the Evergreen have been in- valuable. As a soprano in the chorus, Barbie led the gossip corner in the back row. She also participated in .l.V. hockey and varsity tennis. Undoubtedly Barbie's most famous qualities are her flashing smile and cheerful willingness to work. With these attributes, she is sure to be one of the most successful members of the class of 1960. 26 Nickname: Babs, Smiley Favorite Expression: The sun did it. Usually Seen: Out on dates. RICHARD LLOYD-J ONES CUSSLER As the 4'Marlboro man of the senior class, Richie has always been a favorite at Tower Hills. He is a favorite with the coaches be- cause of his hulking 6'37', 190-pound build which bowls over foot- ball, track, and female opponents alike. The proverbial Cussler bloody noses have plagued Mr. Wild throughout the football season. However, when not bleeding, Richie manages to trap frustrated passers behind the line of scrimmage. During the winter Cussler's deadly hook shot and gazelle-like rebounding ability are famous. Spring comes, turning Cussleris thoughts to high-jumping and Mr. Oviatt's thoughts to Richie,s English grade. During third periods on Monday and Friday one can hear Richie's soprano quaver blending with the chorus. Before school Munch can be found sprawled casually in one of the collapsing senior room chairs meditating on life and loves. Since he is so often seen like this, Richie is thought of as one of the class thinkers. Munchie is also a member in good standing of the Theory Club which is composed of twelve confused Seniors attempting to under- stand the mysteries of Physics. Because of his many attributes and talents, Richie is sure to be as big a success in college as he was at Tower Hill. 25
