C loss Hisfory As Freshmen in 1958 we elected Jedy Snyder to lead the class of 1962. Our vice- president was Tom Moyer and Sally Place, Judy Place, and Peggy Dickerson took positions as secretary, treasurer, and historian respectively. The Freshman Soiree was the name chosen for our first class function. The class sponsors for our Freshman year were Mrs. Janet Allen, Mr. Paul Hartman, Mr. Herman Kordalski, Miss Natalie Wilhour, and Mr. James White. Michael Carrigan led the class through the sophomore year. Chosen to aid him were Dawn Moore, vice-president, Kathy Hamilton, secretary, Suzy Clark, treasurerg and Peggy Dickerson, historian. On April 2, 1960, we held Swing Into Spring, our sophomore dance. Mr. Kay Campbell, Mr. James Demski, Mrs. Linda Kindred, Mrs. Sandra McKey, and Mrs. Celia Talada were our advisors. As Juniors our goal of graduation was indeed drawing nearer. Michael Carrigan again served as class president with Harry Griggs, vice-president, Suzy Clark, secretaryg Lucie Jayne, treasurer, and Peggy Dickerson, historian. The Junior Prom, our first formal affair, was given the theme of B1ue Hawaii. Mr. Frank Bialek, Miss Magdalene Billow, Mr. Kay Campbell, and Mr. Daniel Thomas were our junior sponsors. Suddenly we were seniors and we elected Harry Griggs to lead us through this, our golden year. Assisting him were vice-president, Michael Carrigang secretary, Ellen Blakely, treasurer, Tonie Schmollg and historian, Peggy Dickerson. Our class chose red and white for our colors and the Mamie Eisenhower carnation as our flower. For the theme ofour last formal dance, the Senior Ball, we used the theme of Poinsettias in the Snow . Our class advisors for our senior year were Mr. Frank DeWitt, Mr. John Koser, Mrs. Carolyn Norton, Mrs. Sarah Sheffey, and Mr. Leonard Smith. After a whirlwind year, graduation was upon us and our high school days were fast coming to a close. We, the class of 1962, are now leaving Towanda High School, but we want to extend our deepest thanks to the innumerable people who have encouraged us in our quest for knowledge throughout our school days. Our future lies ahead and we are rushing to it with the eagerness of youths and the confidence of adults. 23
