CHALLENGE Look back ... Where have you been? How much did you really see? Did you extend your hand to touch a friend? Were you all that you could be? Reflect... Where are you today? Have you stopped to look around? Is someone happier because of you? Is it true contentment you’ve found? Anticipate... Which path to choose? Will you reach that ultimate goal? What will you do for your fellow man? Will you fulfill your own heart and soul? 2 DEDICATION The 1980 Tolo Staff proudly dedicates this yearbook to a very special person. He is very special to those of us associated with him. He has been a very dedicated sponsor for the class of 1980, standing beside them for all four years. He has been very understanding and patient as a sponsor through all the major and minor decisions that were to be made throughout high school, such as class rings and graduation announcements. He is a good teacher, too, and needs to be recognized for it. We wish to thank you for your dedicated service to this school and the class of 1980. It has been greatly appreciated. We are honored, therefore, to dedicate this 1980 TOLO to you. Mr. Dale Faull. 3 3acuity lPlc£uz£$[ Cdan you guza ur(io Li urfio? c fdm in iitzatton Mr. Charles Zbrozek. David, a member of the Freshman Class, died at 3 p.m. Thursday. April 10, in St. Jude’s Hospital. Memphis, Tenn., where he was being treated for leukemia. Although David was just a Freshman, he was known by all and everyone thought the world of him. He will certainly be missed. 16 fom conzing c fitzndanti Honorary Attendant: Sofic Eriksson from Sweden escorted by Mike Gray Honorary Attendant: Marcus Heinrich from Germany escorted by Mary Milburn Honorary Attendant: Michelle Knott from Australia escorted by Chris Jones Honorary Attendant: Rosario Ojeda from Chile escorted by Rick Rumbold Freshman Attendants: Kirk Schmidt Joyce Allen Sophomore Attendants: Rich Hendrick Rosalie Musselman 18 Junior Attendants: Mike Leezer Karen Kraklow Senior Attendants: Mark Wilson Janice Allen Queen: Tawn Marshall was escorted by Mark Martinez Due to injury in the Homecoming game, the King could not attend the dance, so below is our King. There’s nothin’ behind me and nothin’ that ties me To something that might have been true yesterday. Tomorrow is open and right now it seems to be more Than enough to just be here today. I don’t know what the future is holdin’ in store I don’t know where I’m goin’. I’m not sure where I’ve been. Second Street Kewanee, Illinois GUZZARDO’S Hallmark Cards Fannie May Candy A FEW WORDS FROM OUR EDITOR Even after helping put the 1978-79 yearbook together with Cheryl, I never realized how much work goes into making a yearbook. You have deadlines to meet, pages to do (constantly), pictures to take, pictures to sell, money to handle, money to make, ads to sell, last year’s books to pass out, this year’s books to sell, film to mail, film to buy when it’s run out, and picture days are the worst hassle of all; plus they expect you to go to school. You never go one day without thinking of something you should be doing towards the yearbook. Here is a forewarning to future Editors: “Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today ’cause you’ll just keep getting farther behind.” I would like to make a special thanks to Frank Bush for being so willing to take pictures, getting me scores to the sports, and using his special talent to draw when I needed it. 1 also would like to thank my close friend, Kathy Buley, for designing the divider pages and helping me whenever I needed her. She was always willing to do anything for me. I would also like to thank the faithful Tolo staff members who helped as much as they could. It’s too bad there’s not more like them so this Tolo could have been even better. Most of all, I would like to thank Mrs. Johnson for putting up with me. When I had questions about something, she could always find the answers if she already didn’t know the answers. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I must admit that this was the biggest challenge I’ve taken on and I’ll remember this as the best learning experience I’ve ever had. Thanks again to all who made this possible for me and the entire school. 127 COMPLAINT FORM If you have any complaints, write them in the box below. Stay inside the box.
