CLASS HISTORY Long, long ago--four years to be exact--your intelligent, talented, ambitious, witty graduating seniors were but lowly freshmen. Take a lesson, freshmen, someday your class, too, can be a senior class like ours. Not as good, perhaps, but a senior class, anyway. Enough of this sentimental reminiscence and down to hard facts. Our freshman class of 57 members was led by President Mary Luckett. She was assisted by Ronnie White. Kathy Jackson, David Reeves, Ann Webster, and Leon Heaton. Our four-year success story began with Bonnie Carrington being elected Homecoming Queen during her freshman year. This doesn’t happen very many times, so we were quite proud of her. During our sophomore year we added two valuable members to our class--Dixie Krans, and Connie Somberger. When nine sophomore boys made the varsity football squad, the games were much more interesting to us. The sophomore officers were Carolyn Smith, Mary Luckett, Bonnie Carrington, Ronnie White, John Perkins, and Donna Dustin. At the end of our sophomore year, there was some talk of Miss Newton's leaving us. However, we were glad to welcome her back as our junior sponsor. We were glad to have Mr. Joley back, too, but Miss Newton's prettier than he is. Everyone who attended our junior-senior prom will agree that it was the best prom ever held in the new gym. Of course, it is the only prom that was ever held there at the time of this writing; nevertheless, it was the best. And who can ever forget our wonderful junior and senior class plays? It's hard to believe that such talent could come from as small a school as Toulon. Our junior officers were John Perkins, Ann Webster, Mary Ann Mahany, Judy McWilliam, Leon Heaton, and Donna Dustin. To close our last year in good ole Toulon High, our officers were Dixie Krans, Barbara Slygh. Mary Luckett. Clifford Knowles, Donna Dustin, and John Perkins. As happens to every senior class, the year flew by, and we were in caps and gowns before we realized it. Soon our high school days will fill only a small part of our large collection of memories.
