Named to gunde the sensors rn thenr fmal year at THS were Shlrley Memmger Raymond Lapp Karen Porter and Dave Lundgreen Faculty guxdance for the Class of 60 came from Mrs N-ua... We ve made It at last were the words uttered by the seniors as they receaved therr dlplomas on May 24 Many events have taken place slnce 1948 when the Class of 60 launched nts bug climb towards grad uatlon We boast outstandnng leaders In scholarship mu src dramatncs and athletrcs to name a few As elghth graders we gave TJHS nts second stralght undefeated football team whale the basketball team shared the conference tntle and took second place honors In the Wheatland tournament In the fall of 1956 THS was honored wrth the arrlval of 123 eager and talented freshmen We were an energetic group and started raasmg money by selling concessions as well as handling the tra dutlonal chore of collecting wood for the Homecom mg bonfure Chosen to lead the class that year were Janet Whnt man presrdent Joe Kennelly vrce president and Vernon Loveland secretary treasurer Ayars Mr Butterfleld Mr Butts and Mr Boucher As sophomores we returned to school with a lttle more confidence We were well represented that year In the Student Councul pep club band cholr FFA FHA and all three malor sports As usual money was a mayor Item and we con tnnued to add to our nest egg by selling at football and basketball games Dean Johnson was named to head the class as presrdent whsle Lonny Rawlings was elected vrce presrdent Once again Vernon Loveland was elected to the post of secretary treasurer Then came the three bug moments of our rumor year the class play class rmgs and the Jumor Sen lor Prom November saw the lumors presenting A Man Called Peter the flrst relrgrous play to be gnven In Torrmgton hugh school Next came the orders for class rmgs and on Jan 28 those prized possesslons arrrved Needless to say we thought that they were the fmest nn THS hustory Sayonara was selected as the theme for the Prom and after many months of plannmg that wonderful nrght arrrved .
