With these inspiring ties and an amazing pool of talent, the Torrey Pines buzzer squad has built a dynasty in the North County Academic League, winning numerous championships during the five - ll great teams had their trade- years the NCAL has ex- isted, solidly establish- ing a repu- tation as the team to beat, whether at the freshman, J.V., or Varsity level. But all good buzzers know that winning is not the goal, the real challenge is in discovering how quickly your mind can operate and how much bizarre in- formation is stored in the nether regions of your brain. At Torrey Pines, we really do play for fun, and we know that winning is fun! t was a blur of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and hot buttered popcorn. lt was also a blur of Renaissance art and his- tony, chemistry, astronomy, the Supreme Court, and seemingly countless other chal- lenging academic subjects.
