We shall endeavor to show you our happiest moments as well as some of our more serious ones. This was the year when we put our final touches on the momentous adventures which we began 12 years ago. As you turn through the pages of the Trojan may your memories be revived and may your spirits be elevated as you view the year through the eyes of the Seniors. Trojan Staff APPRECIATION Logan E. Houston Wilson Potts John L. Caldwell Rush Sherrill James V. Brandon Isaac T. Graham A. Craig Phillips 5 YEARBOOK STAFF Layout Chairman Rush Sherrill 4 TO YOU We dedicate to you, Mrs. Johnsie A. Beaver, our annual, hoping in our humble way to express the deep respect and affection that we feel for you. You have assuredly worked diligently and affectively to import knowledge to the students and to guide the people of the school community. For the services which you have rendered we are indebted to you, but we feel it is a debt that we can never fully repay. We also feel that this association with you will be pleasant memories to us. 6 PRINCIPAL and SECRETARY I. T. Graham L. N. Holloway ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL R. C. Mcliwain 9 OUR PRINCIPAL . . . SPEAKS Congratulations to the graduating class of 1965. You have reached a milestone that should signal the beginning of an era of thorough preparation for your particular place in life in a rapidly changing world. It is the sincere hope of all of us who have had a part in shaping your lives, that you have developed habits, attitudes, skills, and inquisitive minds sufficient for the task ahead. May each of you accept with dignity your responsibility for making your maximum contribution to your community, your race, and your country. Recognition of your limitations, abilities, and opportunities, is a prerequisite for greatest achieve- ment. As responsible citizens of tomorrow, you have the unique opportunity to elevate the Negro in the minds of many who have only seen the worst side of the Negro accentuated. As you take your places beside other citizens in school or on the job, you shoidd and must behave sanely and with dignity and intelligence. May your aims be high, and your will indominable as you carve for yourselves an enviable record in a rough technological world. 8 rnO ?o(D x-H CO n mD O MISS E. E. HAIRSTON MRS. I. S. HUNT MRS. R. T.
