,-1: That's What lt's All About Often during the school day, a lit- tle bit of enthusiasm could be heard traveling down the halls. Maybe a good grade was scored on an Eng- lish test, or perhaps the English test was even canceled! Although academics aren't con- sidered to be the fun part of the school day by many students, they are the most important part and not something to be taken lightly. Aca- demics are the basic courses taken throughout each student's high school career, and a number of credits in each course is required tor graduation. Our academic requirements have undergone some changes in the past year. The graduating class of 1986 will be the last class with a graduation requirement of only 18 credits. Beginning with the class of 1987, 20 credits will be required tor graduation. When you get right down to it, academics are what makes a school. Topsail is, above all, a place to learn, and that's what it's all about. Dissection is a serious undertaking for Drs. James Hatcher and Anthony Smith. Lower left, Shawn Pollard wonders it there is life after Spanish Day as hungry young stu- dents crowd his booth. Mr, Piver's Government and Economics class works on a reading assignment. .. They keep a good sense of humor while coaches abruptly ask questions about the scores and the plays just made. Wendy Rogers, Traci Little, Susan Geddie, Michael Shepard, Sarah Johnson, and Dawn Phillips deserve our sincere gratitude.
