RUBY MORRIS, M.S. - Department Chairman, SMSG, lgdvanced Math, Math Club, Chem lub. -MA THEMA TI CS Revised Texts Stress Ancient Math Theories WHETHER Trojans desired basic business requirements or advanced preparation for ca- reers in Science and Technology, the THS Mathematics department adjusted to the per- sonal need of each student. Trojans were offered a variety ofmath courses ranging from basic math to the more complex Algebra and Trigo- nometry. However, a new area has been intro- duced to Topeka High - the Computer. As the world moves to the Gemmini-Apollo age, the computer comes to THS, thus bringing a new concept - computer programming. Vast op- portunities present themselves with this new Iield of service. The THS math department moves with the times to the future. PREPARIN G to demonstrate a formula is Nancy Nolder. CASUALLY con- centrating on Alge- bra is junior Bob Wellborn.

BIOLOGY student views ameba through microscope. -SCIENCE Inquisitive Minds Study Mysteries Of Nature Enrolled this year in the Trojan Science department were students taking subjects ranging from Biology and Physical Science to Botony, Physiology, Physics, and Chemis- try. Aided by interesting films and lectures, these students studied textbooks and worked on study sheets in order to meet the demands of these courses. Besides taking part in class- work, ambitious Trojans took advantage of the Science Fair as an additional means of testing their skills and increasing their knowl- edge. For a few students with special talents and interests, the Topeka Science Seminar was another way in which they learned more through guest speakers and discussions.
