The Science Department made possible, through its emphasis, a deeper understanding of the c'hemic'al, physical, and natural processes that .ailect our world. Added to this the study of heredity, environment, and charactteristicts, and science students received a line initial survey of what the universe is made of and how it operates. A new and fully-equipped laboratory enlarged the facilities already available to biology and physiology students, Physics and chemistry classes learned to apply the fundamental laws through broad experi- mentation. Learning about the celestial bodies re- quired hours ol' absorbing study for those seniors en- rolled in the college level astronomy course. ln an attempt to keep abreast ol' the times, the Science Department molded young minds to the all- important task of meeting the future scientihc needs ol' our nation. Many will go on to college and special helds ol' training to become Tomorrow's Scientists.
