Donning the gray caps and gowns, we are now ready to follow the classes of previous years and become graduates -alumni of Topeka High School. Looking now to new horizons, we are prepared and proud to take our places in the outside world. Often will we relive our experiences at Troy, recapturing those moments that have become part of our class. Recalling our first year as Trojans, we will remember the dreaded ordeal of induction which unified our class-the class of '56. Amid a setting of the South Sea Islands, we displayed our talents as we presented our own Sophomore Party, an unforgettable event from our high school days. As juniors, we plunged into many activities and took more initiative as we found our notch in various clubs. We took an active part in sponsoring our junior play, George Washington Slept Here, as members of our class proved their dramatic abi- lity in the leading roles. Presenting the Prom proved an exciting venture as we complimented our superiors. ln our last activity as juniors, the girls of our class formed the traditional daisy chain at graduation. 20 resholcl of Future Finally we reached the climax of our three years of re- sidence in Troy-our senior year. Leading the school in student government, we set examples for our successors. Eagerly we awaited the highlighted moments of the school year when mem- bers of our class were crowned as Homecoming, Queen of Courts, Sunflower, and All-School Party royalty. Amid the hub- bub of filling out college applications, we took a holiday, senior sneak day. Then reviewing our experiences as Trojans, we gave Class Day. This was a joyous occasion, yet we were filled with sadness as we realized that this was the last time we would appear on the THS stage as Trojans. lt seems to us that it was only a short time ago that we entered the halls of Troy as wide-eyed sophomores. ln that time, we have gained immeasurable knowledge through our friend- ships, the faculty, the administration, our classes, and our ac- tivities. Though we will scatter across the world in years to come, we will always remain o unit, a group, the class of T956. We share a common bond, a common feeling, and a common spirit-the spirit which can only come from having spent three years together in the shadow of the tower.
